ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN/VICTORIAN UPRIGHT PIANO
This item has been removed from an Edwardian house as part of an estate clearance.
The piano case is either a flame mahogany or walnut with a deep rich colouring that looks fantastic.
Originally
retailed by Horn & Thompson of Burton on Trent Staffordshire.
I have been unable,
at present, to establish who the maker was or which type of upright it is
i.e straightstrung or overstrung. hence the low price.
The keys play but
having looked inside the top lid I would suggest it need a good clean and re-tune.
Apart from the
great colour of the cabinet there is a mother of pearl and boxwood inlay and two brackets for the sconces which unfortunately are missing.
The approximate measurements
are:-
Height:- 48 inches
plus
Width:- 60 inches
plus
Depth:- 30 inches
plus
This
is an ideal item for anyone who buys, restores and sells piano's or for the novice who wants a good piano to clean up and play.
